PETALING JAYA: RHB Capital Bhd launched its new RHB Now Mobile Banking Application that includes an option to send money to family members, friends and any individual using mobile numbers, email or Facebook, without the need for a bank account number.

The feature called the RHB Pay Anyone is the first-in-the-market that is available in Malaysia.

“Recipients have the option to accept the transacted amount through a RHB account or any other Malaysian bank account.

In addition, the overall number of steps to complete a transaction has also been reduced by 20%, by enabling shortcuts to favourite transactions,” its press release said.

Its group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said this development is a significant milestone in RHB’s digital journey and commitment to become the next generation digital bank.

Bernama earlier reported that Khairussaleh expected the upgraded application to attract at least 100,000 new users within the next 12 months.

These new features will attract new users. It will also prompt existing Internet banking users to migrate to the mobile banking platform, Khairussaleh said.

Privileges include discounts and purchases made via the application with products delivered to customers’ doorstep, the bank said.

The RHB Now Mobile Banking App is now available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.
