FBM KLCI closes higher


PETALING JAYA: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) closes higher today by 7.21 points to 1,483.67 following overnight Wall Street recovery.

Gainers led losers with 536 counters up, 265 down and 269 remained unchanged.

Overnight Wall Street recovered 423.37 points, or 3.95% to 11,143.31

On FBM KLCI, the top three gainers were TAHPS that gained 25 sen to RM4.45, Petdag climb 24 sen to RM16.78 and YTLCMT added 21 sen to RM4.85.

On the other hand, the top three losers were BAT that shed 30 sen to RM43.62, Petgas lost 16 sen to RM13.02 and LMCEMNT slipped 13 sen to RM6.87.

Among the heavyweights, PetChem added 18 sen to RM6.33, CIMB gained 7 sen RM8.10 and Tenaga climbed 5 sen to RM5.91.

According to HwangDBS Vickers Research said the positive overnight lead should calm investors around the region today.

“FBM KLCI could stage a technical rebound but may struggle to cross the immediate resistance level of 1,495 ahead ,”it said in a market preview report today.
