PETALING JAYA: World rubber prices closed firmer yesterday in line with the rally in crude oil price, which hit above US$81 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Rubber for February delivery on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, the global benchmark, rose by the maximum-permitted 10 yen per kg to 255.2 yen (US$2,221) per tonne, the highest since Aug 9.
