MOTOROLA is investing in new radio frequency equipment and expanding the size of its research and development (R&D) engineering workforce to over 800 by the end of this year from the current 550 to make the Penang facility its largest design centre for two-way radios in the world.
Motorola design centre optimisation strategies director Denny Miller told StarBiz the additional investment in equipment and the cost for the 250 new R&D engineers would work out to about RM80mil this year.
