BALI: Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd said it plans to use funds from its Indonesian unit’s share sale to build edible oil refineries and pare its debt.
The sale of shares in Minamas Plantations, which would be completed by the end of 2006, would help reduce its debt to about half its assets from about 1.3 times currently, group chief executive officer Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said in an interview. However, he declined to say how much the share sale would raise.
