ISLAMABAD: (Bernama-Xinhua) An officer with the police bomb disposal squad was killed on Saturday (Nov 7) when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded as he attempted to defuse it in Pakistan’s north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said, reported Xinhua.

The incident occurred in the Sararogha area of Upper South Waziristan district, according to police.

District Police Officer Ashfaq Khan told local media that the assistant head of the squad sustained critical injuries in the explosion and later succumbed to his injuries.
