Brunei minister urges young graduates to use AI to enhance skills

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Artificial intelligence (AI) should be leveraged in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to ensure graduates remain competitive and meet the evolving demands of industry, Brunei's Minister of Education Romaizah Mohd Salleh said.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony for nearly 1,100 students of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) at the International Convention Center near the capital, Hajah Romaizah highlighted the immense potential of AI in enhancing education and workplace efficiency.

However, she cautioned that the use of advanced technologies should not come at the expense of individual capabilities.

Hajah Romaizah reminded the graduates to use AI as a tool to enhance their efficiency and personal potential rather than as a substitute for human skills and knowledge.

The ceremony was held concurrently with the presentation of academic excellence awards, recognizing outstanding achievements among IBTE students. -- Xinhua
