HANOI: Tran Cam Tu, permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, on Wednesday (Oct 14) urged Party organisations and local authorities to take decisive actions to achieve the country's economic growth target of over 10 per cent this year, local media Nhan Dan reported.

Speaking at a conference with Party organisations of localities and state agencies in Hanoi on the day, Tu called for stronger implementation of Party resolutions, improvement in administrative reform and tougher actions against corruption, wastefulness and negative phenomena, the report said.

Tu underscored the need to accelerate public investment disbursement, resolve stalled projects and develop domestic businesses, particularly those in supporting industry and with strong technological capacity and supply chain linkages.

He called for measures to address unemployment among more than 1.6 million young people, describing it as a critical issue affecting social stability and long-term development.

Vietnam's gross domestic product grew 9.95 per cent year on year in the third quarter and 9.01 per cent in the first nine months, the report added.

The country is seeking to achieve an average economic growth rate of at least 10 per cent in the 2026-2030 period under the resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, according to the Vietnam News Agency. - Xinhua
