Pop Mart marks Molly’s 20th year with Bangkok show from Sept 24

BANGKOK: Pop Mart Thailand will celebrate 20 years of Molly with an exhibition at Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park in Bangkok from Sept 24 to Oct 25, 2026, combining a retrospective of the art-toy character with new interpretations through Thai craftsmanship.

Pop Mart Thailand is organising “Molly 20th Anniversary Exhibition – Bangkok” in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Chulalongkorn University’s Office of Property Management (PMCU). The exhibition adopts the theme 'The Little Galaxy', presented as a journey through a universe of time.

Thai artists and master craftspeople will reinterpret Molly through Benjarong ceramics, decorative inlay and lacquerwork for the Bangkok exhibition.

Thai artist and illustrator Phannapast 'Yoon' Taychamaythakool will also contribute a special work interpreting Molly in her own style.

Molly, the short-haired girl created by Kenny Wong, is recognisable by her large blue eyes and pursed lips. The Bangkok retrospective will bring together the earliest sketches, original paintings, figures and significant works spanning two decades, tracing the character’s development from a collectible into a figure in international pop culture.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s collaboration on the Molly exhibition aims to connect art and art toys with tourism experiences in Bangkok. The exhibition will occupy a semi-outdoor space within Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park, placing the displays amid the park’s greenery.

The Bangkok exhibition’s location also allows visitors to walk to nearby Banthat Thong’s street-food and cafe district. The exhibition highlights the neighbourhood’s food, cafes and activities popular with younger visitors as options for extending an exhibition visit into a day exploring the city.

Pop Mart Thailand announced that Exhibition Packages would go on sale through Trip.com from 10am on Sept 10, 2026, Thailand time.

Pop Mart Thailand will share further exhibition information, special activities and updates through its social media channels. - The Nation/ANN
