Joint operation unearths offences in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Several offences were unearthed in a joint enforcement operation recently conducted by the Belait Police District, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) at two separate locations in the Belait District at Jalan Kuala Balai and Jalan Pandan 5.

The operation led by District Criminal Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohd ‘Izzuddin Hanis Md Salleh, involved 59 officers and personnel from the RBPF, Religious Enforcement Division, Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD), Internal Security Department, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED).

From the operation, the NCB detained two men suspected of involvement in drug-related offences.

Meanwhile, the RCED detected 14 offences, with 12 individuals believed to be in possession of contrabands consisting of 73 packets of cigarettes of various brands and one vape device.

The RBPF said it will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with enforcement agencies in combating unlawful activities.

Members of the public are encouraged to provide information relating to suspicious activities to the authorities. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
