Myanmar exports over 62,000 tonnes of fishery products in first three months of FY 2026-27

YANGON: Myanmar exported over 62,000 tonnes of fishery products in the first three months of the fiscal year 2026-27, which began in April, earning over US$112 million, according to the Department of Fisheries on Tuesday (July 7).

The export volume declined compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, when the country exported over 82,000 tonnes of fishery products and earned over 119 million dollars, an official from the department told Xinhua.

Myanmar exports fishery products to about 40 countries, with the majority going to China, Thailand, the Middle East and Europe, the official said.

In the previous fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 463,000 tonnes of fishery products. - Xinhua
