Jiang Yuyuan and Zhang Yuke deliver a remarkable performance to bag the 2026 Junior Charity Classic in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, China: The 2026 Junior Charity Classic presented by Lenovo ThinkBook concluded successfully from June 10–12 at Enhance Anting Golf Club in Shanghai, one of China’s premier championship golf venues.

Co-founded by Olympic medalist and LPGA Tour professional Janet Lin (Lin Xiyu) and sports marketing expert Smile Xu, the championship was organized by THE SPIN Sports Education Foundation and The CJ Wang Foundation. The tournament was operated by Miles Group (Shanghai) Culture Communication and earned official recognition from both the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS).

Designed to create a world-class competitive platform for junior golfers, the championship introduced numerous innovations across tournament operations, player development, fan engagement, and charitable initiatives. By combining elite competition with meaningful educational and community impact, the event delivered a unique experience rarely seen in junior golf.

Modeled after elite professional tournaments, the championship featured a dedicated Fan Village, an all-glass Champions' Club overlooking the iconic 18th hole, and a player hospitality lounge. Competitors enjoyed complimentary meals, access to the TaylorMade fitting, premium grass practice facilities, and zero green fees throughout tournament week.

These initiatives provided participants with a truly professional championship experience while significantly reducing the financial burden often associated with junior golf competition.

To provide more young athletes with the opportunity to experience championship-level competition, the tournament field was expanded to 108 players.

After three days of highly competitive play, several of China’s most promising junior golfers emerged from a deep and talented field.

In the Girls Division, Jiang Yuyuan delivered a remarkable performance to claim the championship. After holding the first-round lead and later surrendering her advantage due to heat stroke during the second round, Jiang began the final day two shots behind the leader. She responded with an outstanding seven-birdie performance and a final-round 66 to finish at 10-under-par 206, securing a five-shot victory.

Li Jiahang finished runner-up at 211, while second-round leader Lu Suying claimed third place with a total of 213.

Beginning the final round six strokes behind the leader, Zhang Yuke mounted an impressive comeback, carding a closing birdie on the final hole to finish tied for the lead at 4-under-par 212. A late double bogey by co-leader Lu Zhuoxi on the 18th hole ultimately secured Zhang’s victory and the 2026 Junior Charity Classic championship title.

Dong Antong finished runner-up after posting three consecutive rounds of 71, while Lu completed the tournament in third place at 214.

The championship awarded six coveted AJGA tournament exemptions, providing outstanding performers with direct opportunities to compete on the international stage.

Jiang Yuyuan, Li Jiahang, and Zhang Chenhan earned exemptions into the AP Invitational Junior presented by Ninja, hosted by Janet Lin.

Meanwhile, Wang Dibo, Zheng Luorui, and Xu Yanqiao received invitations to compete in the 2026 AJGA SSEF Junior Championship, organized by THE SPIN Sports Education Foundation.

These opportunities represent important pathways for talented young players seeking to further their development through international competition.

Guided by its mission to support the long-term growth of junior golfers, the 2026 Junior Charity Classic presented by Lenovo ThinkBook introduced several innovative initiatives that extended well beyond competition itself.

To provide participants with direct access to elite-level instruction, the tournament invited six accomplished professional golfers — Janet Lin, Feng Simin, Jin Cheng, Jin Bo, Chai Bowen, and Isaac Lam — to conduct on-site coaching sessions during tournament week.

After the first round, the professionals worked directly with players on the driving range and practice greens, offering hands-on guidance covering driving distance, accuracy, iron play, shot shaping, chipping, and putting.

For many competitors, the opportunity to learn directly from established professionals proved invaluable.

“I used one of the short-game techniques I learned after the first round and immediately saw results the next day,” said one participant.

The final round also featured a groundbreaking broadcast experience that elevated junior golf coverage to a new level.

A dedicated on-site broadcast studio was established, featuring commentary from Ai Ke, Editor-in-Chief of Golf Digest China, alongside actor and passionate golfer Ashton Chen (Shi Xiaolong). Tournament co-founders Janet Lin and Smile Xu, together with Enhance Anting Golf Club Executive Director Ozzie Ling, joined the broadcast throughout the day to provide insight and analysis.

Inside the ropes, a special Championship Support Team consisting of Janet Lin, Feng Simin, Jin Cheng, Jin Bo, Chai Bowen, and Isaac Lam delivered exclusive first-person commentary and professional analysis directly from the course.

The innovative broadcast format broke down traditional viewing barriers and created a more immersive and engaging experience for fans watching from around the world.

Recognizing that junior golfer development extends far beyond tournament results, the championship also hosted a special educational forum titled:

Led by tournament co-founder Smile Xu, alongside Feng Simin, Jin Cheng, Jin Bo, and other former collegiate golfers who successfully leveraged golf to gain admission to top universities in the United States, the session provided valuable insights for players and families alike.

Topics included college admissions, NCAA recruiting pathways, scholarship opportunities, academic planning, and long-term athletic development.

The forum reflected the tournament’s commitment to helping young athletes not only become better golfers, but also make informed decisions about their future educational and professional journeys.

Throughout tournament week, the championship transformed Enhance Anting Golf Club into a destination for players, families, and fans.

A dedicated Fan Village and hospitality experiences surrounding the 18th hole offered interactive activities, entertainment, and commemorative merchandise, creating an atmosphere more commonly associated with professional sporting events.

The goal was simple: to make junior golf more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for the entire family.

By combining elite competition with community engagement, the event demonstrated a new model for junior golf development in China.

Charitable impact remains a central pillar of the Junior Charity Classic.

With support from Enhance Anting Golf Club, all participating players received complimentary green fees throughout the tournament week, significantly reducing the financial barriers often associated with competitive junior golf.

In addition, the tournament donated RMB 38,000 to the Shanghai Sports Development Foundation in support of the “Loving You in Your World” program, which provides specialized sports education opportunities for children with special needs.

Through these initiatives, the championship continues to demonstrate how sport can create meaningful social impact while fostering the next generation of athletes

The success of the 2026 Junior Charity Classic presented by Lenovo ThinkBook would not have been possible without the support of its host venue, Enhance Anting Golf Club, as well as its valued partners, including Lenovo ThinkBook, Joyoung, Want Want Group, Zi'ao High School, Panlin Asset Management, TaylorMade, Malbon, FIOT Biotechnology, Feilan Winery, and Yuzhulong.

The championship also received extensive support from media partners including Golf Talk, Golf Digest China, Sina Golf, Sohu Sports, Youku Sports, Sports Money, Golf Magazine China, Golf Channel China, and Golf Vision, helping bring the tournament to audiences across multiple platforms through comprehensive media coverage and live broadcasts.

During tournament week, the Junior Charity Classic Organizing Committee and Enhance Anting Golf Club jointly announced a landmark five-year strategic partnership, ensuring that the championship will have a long-term home at one of China's most respected championship golf venues.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in the tournament's development and reflects a shared commitment to creating a sustainable, world-class platform for junior golfers.

“Over the next five years, this partnership will provide the championship with a stable home, access to elite tournament facilities, and greater opportunities for future growth,” said Smile Xu, Co-Founder of the Junior Charity Classic.

Janet Lin, Olympic medalist, LPGA Tour professional, and Co-Founder of the championship, emphasized the original vision behind the event:

“The Junior Charity Classic was created to provide young golfers in China with a high-level platform where they can compete, learn from one another, and enjoy the game. Establishing a long-term partnership with Enhance Anting Golf Club will help ensure the healthy and sustainable growth of the championship for years to come.”

Ozzie Ling, Executive Director of Enhance Anting Golf Club, highlighted the broader significance of the partnership:

“Our focus extends beyond hosting tournaments. We are committed to creating long-term value for Chinese golf through competition, education, and platform development. This five-year partnership with the Junior Charity Classic is an important step toward that goal. We hope to contribute to the continued growth of golf in China by providing young players with higher-level competitive opportunities, stronger developmental support, and broader international perspectives.”

The announcement of a five-year partnership represents more than a venue agreement—it signals the beginning of a long-term vision for junior golf development in China.

With the support of Enhance Anting Golf Club, dedicated partners, and an expanding community of players, families, and supporters, the Junior Charity Classic is positioned to continue raising the standard of junior golf competition while creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation of athletes.

Over the next five years, the championship will continue to invest in competitive excellence, player development, educational programming, charitable initiatives, and international pathways, helping young golfers pursue their dreams both on and off the course.
