Water disruption in Brunei due to urgent pipe repairs

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Public Works Department (JKR), under the Ministry of Development, on Thursday (May 28) morning provided the latest updates on water supply disruption and low water pressure, which are likely to affect catchment tank areas in Meragang Tank, Berakas Tank and Flight Tank.

According to JKR, the disruption is due to urgent repair work on a transmission pipe at KM104.7, Muara-Tutong Highway, which was completed on Wednesday at 3.42pm.

The department is presently working to restore the water supply in the affected areas. Water supply will resume gradually; however, it will take time for it to fully recover, especially in high ground areas.

The public is advised to use water prudently. In the meantime, residents in the affected areas may obtain water supply from the blue water tanks provided at the listed locations.

Households with water filters are advised to flush their systems before using the water. The public can contact Darussalam Hotline 123 for water tanker requests. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
