PHNOM PENH: The Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC) and the Volunteer Center of Mongolia (VCM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a comprehensive framework for academic cooperation, cultural exchanges and sustainable development initiatives between the two countries.
The agreement, signed on July 28 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, by RAC president Sok Touch and VCM founder and executive director Tsevelmaa Batchuluun, marks a significant step in strengthening institutional ties between Cambodia and Mongolia.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will expand cooperation in research, education, volunteerism, leadership development, cultural exchange, community engagement and capacity building.
The partnership will also support joint academic activities, institutional exchanges, policy dialogue and collaborative projects aimed at contributing to the socio-economic development of both countries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Touch said the agreement reflects the RAC's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and expanding its global academic network.
He said the partnership would create valuable opportunities for researchers, scholars, students and young leaders from Cambodia and Mongolia to exchange knowledge, share experiences and deepen mutual understanding.
Batchuluun welcomed the agreement and thanked the RAC for its commitment to international collaboration.
She said the MoU would provide a foundation for promoting volunteerism, youth empowerment, cross-cultural learning and sustainable community development through joint initiatives.
The signing took place during an official RAC delegation visit to Mongolia from July 27 to 31, aimed at enhancing institutional partnerships and promoting academic and cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the agreement through practical cooperation, regular exchanges and joint programmes to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and collaboration between Cambodia and Mongolia.
