YANGON: President U Min Aung Hlaing said that he will work with a vision to achieve lasting peace over the next five years.
The President made the remarks at a Union Government meeting held at the Union Government Conference Hall, Presidential Office, Naypyidaw on Tuesday (May 26).
The President said that we must learn from the events that have occurred in the past and continue to work to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
We must work to achieve political stability, economic strength, and security by ending armed conflicts.
In addition, we need to make efforts to improve international relations.
When Union-level individuals, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers of Regions and States interact with the international community, we need to engage in dialogues that will benefit our country.
We will work to strengthen a multi-party democracy politically, and build a Union based on democracy and federalism.
We need to understand that federalism is a federal system that gives territory, not a federal system that gives people a nation.
We will work to promote the prosperity of the country in national affairs.
To achieve this, we must create job opportunities, enable people to actually work, and provide skills.
There are things that the central government must create, as well as things that the state and region levels must implement.
Only by doing so will they earn a good income, improve their socio-economic lives, and build trust in the national government, the President said.
Similarly, regarding security issues, when we took office, we invited peace talks within 100 days, and we are currently engaging with some EAO groups at the grassroots level.
The PDFs chose the armed path because they were not satisfied with the political processes that occurred due to vote rigging in the 2020 elections.
This situation was reached because domestic and foreign politicians exploited the educational weakness of our country and used it for their own benefit.
Therefore, we have repeatedly said that we must make reforms in the country's education system.
Since stability and peace are also necessary for the development of education, we will work with a vision to achieve lasting peace in the next five years.
No matter how the government invites us to achieve lasting peace, the armed groups must have a true desire to achieve peace with conviction and conviction, and a desire to work together for the development of the country.
We must be politically, security-wise, The President said that reforms must be carried out with due regard to the economic weaknesses that are emerging.
He said that by learning from the historical and contemporary experiences that the country has experienced, his government must strive to improve its political, economic, and defense capabilities with good leadership and enhance the country's prestige on the international stage.
He also urged Union-level officials, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers of Regions and States to think broadly and act broadly when it comes to politics, economy, and security.
The President said that we are practicing a multi-party democracy and that the Constitution (2008) has already stipulated the powers of the central government and the powers of the regions and states.
According to the law, the remaining issues to be implemented by the regions and states and the self-administered areas need to be addressed and progress should be made within the next six months.
The Union, Region and State governments need to be in harmony in their work and work towards achieving success and progress.
The Union level cannot implement the work itself, but can provide guidance and supervision.
The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Union Ministers, and the Chairperson of the Naypyidaw Council, while the Chief Ministers of the Regions and States attended via video conferencing. - Eleven Media/ANN
