BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The implementation of the Makkah Route Initiative, launched Monday (May 4) at the Brunei International Airport, forms part of efforts under Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of services for Dhuyufurrahman (Guests of Allah the Almighty).

Through this initiative, the entry process for Brunei’s haj pilgrims into Saudi Arabia will be faster and more seamless, as immigration procedures are completed in advance within the country, eliminating the need for immigration clearance upon arrival at Madinah Airport.

Several intending haj pilgrims leaving on the first haj flight yesterday shared their views on the implementation of this initiative this year, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience, particularly in easing arrival procedures and allowing pilgrims to focus more on their spiritual journey upon reaching the Holy Land.

Muhammad Khairul Anuar Badaruddin expressed gratitude for being selected as an accompanying haj official, highlighting his commitment to ensuring a smooth and well-managed journey for pilgrims.

He also welcomed the newly introduced procedures, describing them as promising and beneficial in facilitating a more seamless arrival process.

Siti Khatamalzariah Kamaludin shared her excitement as a first-time pilgrim after a seven-year wait, travelling with family members.

She emphasised the importance of spiritual, mental and physical preparation, while praising the improved procedures, including early luggage check-in and the Bio Visa system, for enhancing efficiency.

Mohd Yante Hussaine Ismail, performing haj for the second time since 1999, underscored the value of continuous preparation through courses and personal readiness.

He viewed the Makkah Route Initiative as a significant improvement, particularly in easing arrival procedures and benefiting elderly pilgrims.

Faten Salwa Ibrahim, describing her first haj experience after five years of waiting and travelling with close family members, highlighted early and consistent preparations, and commended the coordinated efforts of the authorities and agencies in providing clear guidance and strong support throughout the process. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
