BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Defence on Thursday (June 25) received an introductory visit from Chief of the Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General Ukris Boontanondha.

Upon arrival, General Ukris Boontanondha was received by Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan, was accorded a general salute and inspected the guard of honour mounted by personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF).

Following the ceremonial welcome, General Ukris Boontanondha proceeded to make a goodwill call to the commander of the RBAF.

During the call, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment towards maintaining consistent and ongoing military cooperation between both armed forces as well as further strengthening existing defence relations.

Subsequently, General Ukris Boontanondha also paid a courtesy call to Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof.

During the call, both sides reiterated their continued commitment to enhancing bilateral defence and military relations. Both sides also expressed their desire to enhance military cooperation through various bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as explore new opportunities to expand areas of cooperation in the future.
