Myanmar exports over 463,000 tonnes of fishery products in FY 2025-26


YANGON: Myanmar exported over 463,000 tonnes of fishery products in the 2025-26 fiscal year (from April 2025 to March 2026), generating over US$689 million in export earnings, according to the Department of Fisheries on Tuesday.

The export volume declined compared with the 2024-25 fiscal year, which recorded over 553,000 tons of fishery products and earned over 722 million dollars, an official from the department told Xinhua.

Myanmar exports fishery products to about 40 countries, with the majority going to China and Thailand, as well as to the Middle East and European Union countries, the official said. - Xinhua
