BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) yesterday marked a significant milestone in its talent development journey with the Engineering Apprentice Intake 30 Signing Ceremony at the RB Campus.

The ceremony formalised the induction of six selected apprentices into RB’s structured engineering development programme, following a highly competitive selection process.

A total of 470 applicants applied, with 220 shortlisted for screening, 91 progressing to written assessments, and 14 reaching the final interview stage before six candidates were ultimately selected.

The apprentices are Danial Haslin, Kieran Ong Jun Jie, Ahmad Danial Rushdi, Delwin Tang Lee Wun, Yasmein Ameina Mohammad Affno, and Nur Uzma Ismail.

As part of its effort to provide world-class training, RB collaborates with Aviation Australia, a recognised international aviation training provider.

Through this partnership, apprentices will gain exposure to globally benchmarked standards and practices.

RB currently has approximately ten engineering apprentices from its first cohort undergoing training in Brisbane, Australia, further strengthening its technical capabilities for the future.

“At RB, we believe that our people are our greatest asset," said RB Interim Chief Executive Officer Colonel Norsuriati Sharbini.

"This apprenticeship programme reflects our commitment to nurturing local talent and developing the next generation of aviation professionals. Through our collaboration with Aviation Australia and our continued investment in training, we are building a strong foundation for the future of our airline and contributing to the nation’s vision under Brunei Vision 2035.”

The multi-year apprenticeship programme combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practical experience within RB’s engineering and operational environment.

It is designed to equip participants with the technical expertise, discipline and safety-focused mindset required in the aviation industry. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
