Laos moves forward in promoting child health through community engagement


VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Laos is accelerating child health promotion through immunization and strengthened media and community engagement to build public confidence in health services and ensure every child receives life-saving vaccines.

A national training workshop on promoting child health through immunization and strengthening media and community engagement was held on Wednesday here.

The event was presided over by Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, president of the Lao Front for National Development, according to a report from the Center of Information and Education for Health under the Ministry of Health.

The workshop emphasized the role of communication, community mobilization, and multi-sectoral collaboration in improving child health nationwide.

Participants explored ways community leaders and mass organizations can build trust in health services and vaccination programs.

The workshop reinforced the Lao government and partners' commitment to safeguarding child health through vaccination, community engagement, and coordinated efforts across sectors. -- Xinhua
