'Sisters showing the power within' - International Women’s Day unites the community in inspiring the ladies to greater heights

In conjunction with International Women’s Day 2026, four inspiring women from different professional backgrounds came together to launch a meaningful non-profit community initiative aimed at empowering and uplifting women.

The initiative was jointly led by Revathy Mariappan, a well-known television personality, producer, and event host in Malaysia; Jastina Mohan, a professional makeup artist; Dr. Nithya Gloria, CEO of Medvion Klinik; and Nalina Nair, PJ City Councillor and DAP Selangor Secretary.

Together, they initiated “The Power Within – Celebrating Women,” a community-driven programme designed to encourage women to grow, connect, and support one another while promoting a holistic and healthy lifestyle.

Held at Porch & Pantry, the intimate gathering welcomed approximately 40 participants from diverse professional backgrounds. The event created a warm and engaging environment where women could listen, learn, and interact directly with speakers while building meaningful connections with one another.

Designed as a non-profit community initiative, the programme focused on key aspects of women’s development, including financial awareness, self-grooming, together with a makeup tutorial, health and lifestyle, and personal safety measures. Through insightful sharing sessions and discussions, participants gained practical knowledge and inspiration to strengthen both their personal and professional lives.

Adding a creative and interactive element to the programme, Nisha from NJ Flower Bar conducted a hands-on floral activity, allowing participants to express their creativity.

Beyond the talks and activities, the event also featured interactive booths that encouraged networking, conversations, and engagement among participants, reinforcing the event’s central theme of connection, empowerment, and shared support among women.

Speaking at the closing of the event, organiser Revathy shared the key message behind the initiative: “Gratitude, good health, and financial independence are key pillars for a truly fulfilled life. When women support and uplift one another, we create stronger communities and a better future for

everyone.”

The event received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, many of whom expressed appreciation for the organisers’ genuine intention to give back to the community.

One participant, Hema, shared her experience following the event: “This was such a meaningful and inspiring gathering. I truly hope there will be a follow-up event, and I would love to see this initiative grow even bigger.”

With its strong spirit of collaboration and community, “The Power Within – Celebrating Women” successfully demonstrated the impact of women coming together to uplift, inspire, and create lasting change.
