Thailand welcomes 3.26mil foreign tourists in February

BANGKOK: Thailand welcomed 3.26 million foreign tourist arrivals in February, marking a 4.63 per cent increase compared to a year earlier, official data showed on Tuesday (March 3).

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the South-East Asian country generated an estimated 160 billion baht (about US$5 billion) in inbound tourism receipts last month, representing an expansion of 6.06 per cent year-on-year.

With arrivals surpassing one million, China was the leading source market for the Thai tourism sector during the first two months of 2026, followed by Malaysia and Russia, the ministry said in a statement.

Thailand has recorded over 6.62 million foreign arrivals so far this year, the ministry data showed, with a full-year target of 36.7 million. - Xinhua
