Brunei's February welfare payments to be effected on Feb 26

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The payment for recipients of the Monthly Welfare Assistance, Old Age Pension, Blind Allowance, Mental Disability Allowance, Hansen Allowance and Disability Allowance and Care Provider Allowance scheduled for February will be effected tomorrow, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) on Tuesday (Feb 24).

This applies to everyone receiving payments either through banks or through village heads. The recipients are advised to take note of the revised payment date.

For the Brunei-Muara District, the payment process to penghulus and village heads will be carried out as usual at the counters provided at the Senior Citizens and Pensions Division, Level 1, JAPEM, MCYS building on Feb 26.

Meanwhile, for the other districts, payments will be made at the JAPEM District Branch counters.

The change of payment date is due to a technical disruption affecting the Pension Information and Management System, impacting the processing of the department’s operations.

The department has implemented comprehensive remedial measures to ensure that the system resumes normal operations as soon as possible.

The department said it remains dedicated to providing the highest standard of service and upholding its duty of care towards the welfare and well-being of recipients. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
