Helping hands reach underprivileged households in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A ceremony to distribute donations to underprivileged was held on Friday (Feb 20), organised by Projek Amal Impian Cahaya Iman in collaboration with Women Business Council (WBC) members, among others.

Datin Norhayati Mohd Nawawi presented 16 heads of underprivileged households cash donations and essential food supplies.

Rosiah Bakar, a participant of Projek Usahawan Berkarih, a programme aimed at generating income for low-income families, received a food steamer to support her small business efforts.

The event also saw special advisor to Belia Bakti Fatimah Jamil presenting a wakaf of tikar safrah (prayer mats) to Village Head of Area 1, Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme, Muhammad Suhaimi Ibrahim.

The ceremony also marked the official launch of a public distribution initiative, where the donated essential goods will be made available to the underprivileged at Unit G12, Anajat Complex, until Feb 28. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
