Cambodian PM Hun Manet to attend ‘Board of Peace’ meeting in US, visit Europe

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet will attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, initiated by President Trump, in the US, before travelling on to Europe.

According to a Saturday (Feb 14) press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace will take place on Feb 19, at the Donald J. Trump US Institute of Peace in Washington, DC.

The meeting marks the formal commencement of the Board’s mandate, in accordance with the Resolution of the UN Security Council adopted on Nov 17, 2025, which aims to promote peace and advance efforts towards the reconstruction in Gaza.

Participating world leaders are expected to engage in broad discussions on regional and global peace, stability and development, according to the release.

Manet recently announced Cambodia’s participation in the board, as a non-permanent founding member to contribute to peace efforts in the Middle East.

According to the foreign ministry, Manet also plans to undertake a working visit to Europe, including Geneva and Brussels, where he will meet with prominent leaders and key stakeholders to further enhance partnerships and collaboration. - The Phnom Penh Post/ANN
