Cambodia sentences eight traffickers to life for 1.5 tonne ketamine, meth bust

PHNOM PENH: Eight drug traffickers have been sentenced to life in prison for their involvement in a 2024 case which involved the interception of over 1.5 tonnes of ketamine and methamphetamine, which was believed to be en route to Taiwan. Each of the individuals was also fined 400 million riels, approximately US$100,000.

Six of the prisoners, Yang Lianqi, also known as Lim Wei Ming or Luo Shun; Hung Hsien Fu, also known as Hung Chung Yueh; Shi Yuanya; Huang Xiaoyu; Chiu Shiu Chia; and Zhong Yong Qiu, are Chinese nationals, while Li Tsung Hsen is from Chinese Taipei.
