Brunei marks Israk Mikraj with reflection, prayer

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) yesterday held its Israk Mikraj Celebration for the Year 1447 Hijrah at Digadong Hall, MCYS.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Seri Setia Nazmi Mohamad attended the celebration as the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Religious Development Assistant of Youth Development Centre, MCYS Muhammad Nabil Roslan.

The event was further enlivened by a special lecture titled ‘Sembahyang Teras Modal Insan Cemerlang; delivered by Religious Officer, Islamic Da‘wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammad Nasyith Superi.

The celebration concluded with the special prayers for the health and well-being of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, followed by the prayer ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’.

Also present at the event were the acting permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary, heads of divisions and departments, as well as officers and staff of the MCYS.

This event was part of the MCYS’ annual religious activities, as well as those of its departments, aimed at commemorating and enlivening the observance of Israk Mikraj.

This event highlights the establishment of the five daily prayers for Muslims and raises awareness of performing prayers with greater devotion and perfection. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
