Alleged rocket debris with Chinese flag found off Sulu – Philippine Coast Guard


A local fisherman recovered alleged rocket debris floating off Barangay Suang Bunah, Pangutaran, Sulu, on Dec. 30, 2025, the Philippine Coast Guard reported Jan 1, 2026.

MANILA: Alleged rocket debris bearing Chinese flag markings was found floating in waters off Pangutaran, Sulu, on Tuesday (Dec 30), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

In a report released Saturday (Jan 3), the PCG said a local fisherman towed the suspected debris near Barangay Suang Bunah.

“The recovered debris is currently under the custody of Barangay Suang Bunah,” the agency said.

The PCG added that Coast Guard Station Western Sulu is coordinating with barangay officials for the possible transfer of the debris to the agency’s custody for proper handling and disposition.

The agency also urged the public to immediately report any unusual objects sighted at sea to the authorities to ensure public safety. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
