Brunei ranks 13th globally in Islamic finance development


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei has been ranked 13th worldwide in the Islamic Finance Development Report 2025, with Islamic finance assets now accounting for more than half of the nation's total financial system assets, according to Rashidah Sabtu, managing director of the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB, pic).

During a symposium held on Tuesday, Rashidah Sabtu reaffirmed BDCB's commitment to advancing Islamic finance in Brunei through its ongoing efforts to expand Islamic windows for the banking sector and strengthen the FinTech Regulatory Sandbox to widen access to finance and drive innovation.
