Ministry outlines strategic priorities for Brunei's national development

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ (MCYS) key strategic priorities include strengthening a progressive, united and resilient society; empowering visionary youth as drivers of national development; enhancing an inclusive and excellent sports ecosystem; advancing the preservation of culture, heritage and history; and ensuring efficient and effective systems and processes.

These were outlined during a Muzakarah session between members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) and MCYS at the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja in the capital recently.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Seri Setia Awang Nazmi Awang Mohamad delivered the welcoming remarks followed by a response from LegCo member Safiah Sheikh Abdul Salam, the LegCo delegation head.

Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin Johari delivered a briefing on the ministry’s achievements for Financial Year 2024/2025 and its strategic direction.

The session which commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa by Acting Director of Museums Pengiran Rosli Pengiran Halus aimed to foster productive two-way engagement, strengthen cooperation and relationships, and provide a platform for the exchange of ideas towards delivering added value and shared benefits for all parties.
