Hanoi opens cultural festival, celebrating heritage, creativity


HANOI: The opening ceremony of the Vietnamese capital Hanoi's cultural festival took place on Friday night (Nov 7), promoting Vietnamese cultural values and presenting Hanoi as a city rich in tradition and innovation.

The opening performance, featuring nearly 1,000 artists and attended by about 3,000 guests, showcased Vietnam's cultural diversity through various traditional and contemporary art forms.

The festival, themed "Heritage-Connection-Era," will run until Nov. 16, featuring a series of cultural and artistic events at the Temple of Literature, Hanoi Museum and other tourist sites across the city.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said the festival offers a stage connecting traditional heritage with the spirit of the digital age, where folk artisans and young creators join hands to renew and enrich Vietnam's cultural identity. - Xinhua
