Limited humanitarian aid convoys continue entering Gaza under the ceasefire

GAZA (Bernama-Anadolu): Humanitarian aid trucks continued to enter the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday under a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

Among the convoys crossing through the Rafah border were shipments from Turkish aid organisations.

Aid convoys, mostly carrying food supplies, have been moving through multiple crossings, including Kerem Shalom and Kissufim, to assist the victims of Israel’s two-year-long war in Gaza.

A ceasefire deal took effect on Oct 10 in the Gaza Strip, based on a phased plan presented by United States (US) President Donald Trump.

Phase one included the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

The plan also envisions the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

According to Palestinian authorities, Israel has killed nearly 69,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in attacks in Gaza since Oct 2023.

Since the ceasefire went into effect on October 11, the number of those killed and injured has reached 240 and 607, respectively.

At least 511 bodies have also been recovered. -- Bernama-Anadolu
