Laos: Xiengkhouang authorities crack down on Illegal gold mining in move to curb unlawful activities

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): Xiengkhouang security officials, in collaboration with other government agencies, have launched a crackdown on illegal gold mining operations at Hae Mountain in Paek district, leading to several arrests and the confiscation of large amounts of gold ore, according to the Pathetlao News.

During the operation, several smugglers were detained, and a substantial quantity of gold ore was seized.
