KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian pop-rock superstar band Samsons has chosen Malaysia as the first venue to showcase a new track from their sixth album at the "Samsons Live in Malaysia - Kenangan Terindah concert" at IDEA Live Arena, Petaling Jaya, on Nov 9.

The concert promises to be different, with an immersive concept featuring five natural elements - wind, earth, fire, water, and metal - expressed through music, lighting, and stage visuals, along with a special sixth element: love and unity.

According to lead vocalist Adrian Martadinata, 44, this will be the band’s second appearance in Malaysia after 2023, made even more special as local fans will be the first to hear their new song before it is performed in Indonesia.

"The sixth album has yet to be named and contains 10 tracks, including four singles that have already been released - Ada Rasa Yang Salah, Rayu, Kecanduan, and Mentari - while the remaining six are in the final recording stage,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.

Samsons, which also comprises Erik Partogi Siagian, 43 (guitar); Aldri Dataviadi, 41 (bass); and Irfan Aulia Irsal, 42 (drums), said Malaysia remains a special place in their musical journey after receiving an overwhelming response at their concert at Zepp here two years ago.

"We feel truly blessed that our music is so well  received here, and that’s why we can’t wait to return this November,” said Adrian.

Expected to last two and a half hours, the concert will feature more than 20 songs.

"We don’t just want the audience to listen, but also to sing along. That’s why we’ll be sharing the setlist in advance so fans can prepare,” Adrian added, noting that the band is now actively preparing both technically and physically.

Formed in 2003, Samsons is one of Indonesia’s most influential bands with a loyal fan base in Malaysia. Among their timeless hits are "Kenangan Terindah, Naluri Lelaki, Akhir Rasa Ini, and Kisah Tak Sempurna". -- Story info from Bernama
