YANGON: Police and local authorities searched a house in Mae Sot, a town on the Thai-Myanmar border, on September 10 and seized weapons, grenades and a large quantity of ammunition, according to reports from the Thai side.
Troops from the Tak Province Mae Sot Township Police Station Commander, Pol. Col. Rang Daowadueng, and Rajmanu Task Force from the Tak Province Mae Sot Township Police Station, along with representatives from the Infantry Division, Mae Sot Township Investigation Unit, patrol officers and local government officials, searched the Ban Rumeng house in Mae Sot.
The two people found in the house were identified as Sai Naw, a Myanmar national with a passport, and Ma Cho, a Myanmar national without documents.
The relevant authorities searched the house and found a large quantity of illegal items, including a Mk2 grenade, 2.22 caliber pistols (handgun), one modified 22 caliber pistol, one Thai-made gun, one shotgun, 11.38 caliber bullets, seven.22 caliber bullets, and one 8.5.56 caliber bullet.
The Mae Sot Police Station said that action will be taken against the two Myanmar nationals found in possession of the illegal weapons. - Eleven Media/ANN
