BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Brunei Coffee Trail Roadshow drew regional attention from Aug 29 to 31 at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, highlighting the nation’s growing coffee culture to coffee enthusiasts and travellers in Sabah, Malaysia.

The Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City officiated the event, Dato’ Sri Dr Sabin Samitah, JP, together with Brunei Darussalam’s Consul General in Kota Kinabalu Fauzana Octavia Alli.

Organised by Brunei’s Tourism Development Department, the roadshow aims to position Brunei’s evolving café culture as a niche tourism attraction, while promoting the uniqueness of Brunei’s coffee and matcha creations.

It also provided a platform for networking between Sabah’s tourism stakeholders and Bruneian coffee entrepreneurs, as well as travel and tourism operators.

Visitors enjoyed a range of activities, including coffee tastings, interactive sessions, and travel showcases, offering a glimpse into Brunei’s creative blends and specialty brews.

Among the participating cafés were Batches Coffee x East Layong, Coffee Up!, Dahaga Cafe, Erti Kafe, Jumpa Coffee and Roastery, Kupi Tu Wa Ga x Ebb & Flow Coffee Roaster, Sip Sip Coffee, Three Light Coffee Bar, and T’sliur.

The event also featured local travel operators.

Adding a digital dimension to the showcase, Brunei-based startup 360 Geoinfo (B-JAUR.com) introduced its café guide platform, enabling visitors to explore and connect with Brunei’s coffee scene through curated recommendations of must-visit cafés across the nation.
