988 FM kicks off CNY campaign

FOR the 2026 Year of the Horse, 988 FM (988) aims to recreate memories with activities and merchandise lined up for listeners.

The 988 “All In For The Year” campaign was launched at Malaya Nyonya House in Kuala Lumpur.

Present were Star Media Group Bhd (SMG) chairman Tan Sri Wong Foon Meng, group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt and 988 senior general manager Woo Bee Ay.

Topping the highlights is an original Chinese New Year (CNY) song in Mandarin titled The Warmest Moment promoting togetherness and reunion.

The music video (MV) features the DJs, a 1970s coffeeshop, vintage television, Rediffusion box and the first issue of The Star from 1971, a 988 statement said.

“The song symbolises 988’s unwavering commitment to listeners for the past 30 years.”

The MV can be viewed on 988’s social media channels.

988 has also produced an upbeat Cantonese CNY song titled Abundant Fortune and Joy, which lyrics will strike a chord with working adults.

“The MV focuses on joyful moments among friends, from camping to everyday interactions, to show how ‘adding fortune, joy and luck’ can happen through simple but happy times together,” said the radio station.

The song’s lyricist and composer are 988 DJs Chloe Low and Danny Wan.

Song producer Tan Yen Hue said, “This kind of upbeat style carrying a bit of rock elements is not usually seen in CNY songs.

“We strive to innovate our productions every year with new presentation styles,” he said at the launch ceremony.

The MV will debut on 988’s social media channels on Dec 26 at noon.

At the launch, 988 also unveiled its “All In For The Year” limited-edition gift box featuring Peranakan tile motifs as its main visual element and symbols from the Rediffusion era.

The gift box includes a 2026 desk calendar with augmented reality features, a Rediffusion USB drive, an “All In” phone lanyard blind box, foldable bag, and red packet set.

“All these items represent 988’s 30-year journey with listeners, carrying timeless audio memories across generations.

“The gift box is further enriched with items sponsored by our partners, including purple rose herbal tea by Purple Cane, health supplements by Eldon Healthcare, cooking oil by Red Eagle and the coffee or milk tea series by Hock Kee Kopitiam,” 988 said in its media statement.

Priced at RM88, the gift box can be purchased at 988’s online shop or during the “All In” road tour next year.

The roadshow will take place at Sutera Mall, Johor Baru (Jan 24 to Jan 25), Aeon Taiping, Perak and Queensbay Mall, Penang (Jan 31 to Feb 1) and Sunway Velocity, Kuala Lumpur (Feb 8).
