Monsoon, tropical depression to bring rain to most of Philippines

MANILA: The southwest monsoon, also known as the habagat, and a tropical depression (formerly named Jacinto) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) will influence weather across the country on Friday (Aug 29), the state weather bureau said.

In its morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the trough of the tropical depression, which was last spotted 650 kilometres west of Iba, Zambales, outside the PAR, will likely bring cloudy skies with a high chance of rain to the following areas:
