Bus Rapid Transit drivers begin training ahead of trial run in Vientiane

VIENTIANE: Drivers who will be employed under Vientiane’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system have begun training on the new vehicles at the National Sports Stadium, as the city prepares for a trial run of the landmark bus service at the end of this month.

According to an official in charge, the three-month trial run of the new routes is expected to begin on schedule. Construction of facilities along the route was 81.5 per cent complete as of June, with full completion scheduled for December.
