Poisonous mushrooms cause six deaths in northern Laos


VIENTIANE: Health authorities in northern Laos' Xayaboury province have issued a warning about poisonous wild mushrooms after six deaths were reported, urging the public to stay vigilant and take preventive measures to avoid further fatalities.

According to a warning issued by the provincial health office on Tuesday (May 13), poisonous mushrooms have killed six people and sickened two others in the province since January 2025.
