Brunei supports businesses, partnerships for sustainable growth: Minister


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) is committed to creating an enabling environment that supports business operations, while fostering long-term partnership, community integration and sustainable growth, said Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman (pic).

The minister said this as the guest of honour during the ‘Striding Forward: A Dialogue With The Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei’ dialogue session between the MoHA and the French Bruneian Business Association (FBBA) at the Multi-purpose Hall of the MoHA building yesterday.

“This session is not only a platform for engagement but also a testament to the government’s ongoing efforts, particularly through the MoHA to ensure that Brunei remains an open, supportive and forward-looking nation for investment and enterprise,” the minister said.

He added, “As part of our broader vision, the ministry has placed strong emphasis on refining key policies that directly impact the business ecosystem, among them are the regulation governing long-term passes aiming at better accommodating the needs of professionals and investors who wish to make Brunei their long-term base.

“We will implement the new insurance policy to ensure greater protection for foreign nationals residing and working in Brunei to align with international best practices. In terms of immigration administration, we continue to assess and improve categorisation of entry permit to facilitate smoother processes for business visitors, skilled professional and their independent.”

FBBA President Pierre Imhof, who is in France, delivered a remark via video recording welcoming the dialogue session with the MoHA.

Various issues relating to visas and business regulations were also brought up during the question-and-answer session. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
