Business, law still top fields among candidates

Candidates who contested in the general election continued to represent a diverse range of professional experiences, though business, law, finance and public service remain the most common fields represented.

Roughly half of all candidates who contested in this year’s election have a background in one of the aforementioned key sectors, a trend consistent with previous elections.
