VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Laos' Ministry of Finance is collaborating with its partner to develop and manage the Smart Customs system, a modern, centralised tax platform aimed at enhancing customs efficiency and advancing digital transformation.

The system will streamline electronic customs data management and connect various systems involved in customs procedures, including the Lao central bank's payment system, according to the ministry's report on Friday.

The system aims to improve efficiency, reduce paperwork, and enhance collaboration both domestically and internationally, the report added. - XInhua
