Altimet's 'Jaguh' is now the official ring entrance anthem for Malaysian professional MuayThai female fighter Amisha


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian MuayThai scene has now witness an exciting collaboration as the powerful hip-hop song ‘Jaguh’ has been announced as the official ring entrance anthem for professional female muaythai fighter, Nur Amisha Azrilrizal, better known as Amisha.

As the 2023 International Federation Muaythai Association (IFMA) Senior World Champion and 2019 Junior World Champion, Amisha’s achievements exemplify the resilience, strength and determination embodied in the song’s lyrics.

‘Jaguh’, composed and performed by acclaimed rapper Syed Ahmad Syed Rahman Alhadad, better known as Altimet, is a tribute to champions who rise to the top and remain there through unwavering resilience.

Produced in 2016, the song captures the essence of Amisha’s journey, reflecting her tenacity and unrelenting pursuit of excellence in the world of muaythai.

“This collaboration is incredibly meaningful as ‘Jaguh’ perfectly represents what it means to be a champion - not just winning, but having the perseverance and courage to maintain success,” said Amisha.

“It’s an honour to step into the ring with a song that mirrors my journey and inspires me to keep striving for greatness. Most importantly, I would like to thank Altimet for giving me this opportunity and I’m very happy about it."

Altimet shared his excitement about the song being embraced as a symbol of Amisha’s excellence.

As Amisha continues her journey to elevate Malaysia on the global muaythai stage, ‘Jaguh’ serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and determination required to conquer challenges and inspire others.

Amisha, aged 23 is set to compete at the Rentap Fighting Championship 2025 in Kuching, Sarawak, on Saturday, 18 January 2025, where she will face off against Singapore's Winnia Jieen.

For the record, Nur Amisha, who hails from Gunung Rapat, Perak , came to the limelight after clinching her first world title in the World Muaythai Championship 2023 under the Under-23 (U-23) 51 kilogramme (kg) women's category in Bangkok.

The exponent has been making sacrifices for 15 years since joining the sport of Muaythai at the tender age of seven.

The 21-year-old athlete grabbed her first gold medal after several attempts in previous editions of the championship. She won bronze and silver in the 2021 and 2022 editions.
