MANILA (Xinhua): The registered live births in the Philippines have decreased by 17.2 per cent in the past 10 years, from around 1.75 million in 2014 to nearly 1.45 million in 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has announced.
The agency said the Philippines in 2023 registered a total of 1,448,522 live births, corresponding to a crude birth rate of 12.8, or approximately 13 births per 1,000 population.
In 2023, more males were born than females, resulting in a sex ratio at birth of 108 males per 100 females, the PSA said, adding that the most registered births occurred in September.
With more than 110 million population, the Philippines is the 13th most populous country in the world. - Xinhua
