China VP Han Zheng in Brunei for official visit

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Vice President of China Han Zheng and delegation arrived in Brunei on Monday (Oct 21) for a three-day official visit until tomorrow.

Upon arrival at the Brunei International Airport, the vice president was welcomed by Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Muhammad Juanda Abdul Rashid as the receiving minister.

Han Zheng is scheduled to have audiences with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah who is also the Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The vice president is also expected to visit the Royal Regalia Museum, Brunei History Centre and the Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd.

Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo as well as permanent secretaries at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the airport.

According to Xinhua news agency, China looks forward to working with Brunei to carry forward traditional friendship, deepen and expand cooperation in various fields, bring the two countries closer, add new substances to strategic cooperative partnership, and inject more positive energy into peace, stability and prosperity in the region through the visit. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
