Brunei female athlete scores gold in Asian University wushu championship

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei athlete Basma Lachkar claimed a gold medal at the 2024 Asian University Wushu Championship in Harbin, China on Thursday (June 21).

Lachkar scored 9.510 points to claim gold in the women's optional Taijijian event, beating Hibiki Isono of Japan and Chen Yuxing of China to the second and third places respectively, reported Brunei's local daily Borneo Bulletin.

The Brunei team sent two athletes, led by coach Zhao Chunjie, to the tournament held in Harbin, north China's Heilongjiang Province. - Xinhua
