Bruneian Foreign Minister II to visit China on invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi

BEIJING (Xinhua): Bruneian Foreign Minister II Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof will pay an official visit to China from May 13 to 15, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced on Monday.

Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof's visit is at the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, according to the spokesperson.

Brunei and China established diplomatic relations on September 30, 1991. Both countries formed a Strategic Cooperative Relationship on April 5, 2013.

Brunei and China also enjoy active cooperation trade and investment, energy, agriculture and fisheries, defence, education, air services and tourism, health, and people to people exchanges.

Both countries cooperate through bilateral mechanisms such as the Bilateral Consultative Meeting (BCM) at the Senior Officials Level, and the Consultation Meeting on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation (COMTIEC). - Xinhua
