Sultan bestows Raya Kurnia to over 18,000

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Some 18,010 underprivileged individuals nationwide were bestowed with personal gifts (Kurnia Peribadi) with the consent of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah on Wednesday (March 27).

The personal gift which comes in the form of cash comes timely as the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration nears, bringing great meaning and joy to all the recipients comprising those with special needs, orphans, the poor, those facing financial hardships, and those who receive monthly welfare assistance.

In the Brunei-Muara District, a ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, with Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah Hassanal Bolkiah representing the Sultan.

The Crown Prince presented His Majesty’s personal gifts to a total of 1,000 recipients for the Brunei-Muara District.

In the Belait District, the ceremony was held at Pusat Insani in Seria, where Prince ‘Abdul Malik, as the Sultan's personal representative, handed over the Kurnia to 1,000 recipients.

In the Tutong District, Prince ‘Abdul Mateen handed over the Kurnia to 1,000 recipients at the Tutong Community Hall in Tutong Town.

Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel was present in the Temburong District, where 901 recipients received their Kurnia at the Bangar Town Community Complex.

The ceremonies in all four districts on Wednesday mark the beginning of the simultaneous distribution of the Kurnia for selected recipients at designated distribution centres in the respective districts. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
