Indonesia issues regulations requiring digital platforms to pay media for content

JAKARTA (Reuters): Indonesian President Joko Widodo said on Tuesday he had signed a regulation requiring digital platforms to pay media outlets that provide them with content, a move aimed at levelling the playing field between the media industry and big tech companies.

Digital platforms in Indonesia include Meta Platforms' Facebook, Alphabet Inc's Google and some local aggregators.
